Sarah Schulman is a distinguished professor of the Humanities at the City University of New York, College of Staten Island. A member of ACT-UP, she went on to cofound the Lesbian Avengers in 1992. Along with Jim Hubbard, she also cofounded the New York Lesbian and Gay Experimental Film Festival, and the two started the ACT-UP Oral History Project, co-producing the 2012 film United in Anger: A History of ACT-UP. An author of more than seventeen fiction and non-fiction books, most recently she was the coordinator of the Homonationalism and Pinkwashing conference held at the CUNY Graduate Centre>
Tim McCaskell is a Toronto-based community organizer and educator. He belonged to The Body Politic collective from 1974 to 1986. In the early 1980’s he was part of the Right to Privacy Committee that organized community resistance in response to the Toronto bathhouse raids. In 1985 he helped found the Simon Nkodi Anti-Apartheid Committee, and in 1987, he was a founding member of AIDS ACTION NOW!. He worked for the Equity Department of the Toronto District School Board for many years and today is a core member of Queers Against Israeli Apartheid.
Manon Massé is a community worker and cofounder of Option Citoyenne. She has been involved since the 1980’s in feminist, community, and anti-globalization milieus. She was notably one of the organizers of the Bread and Roses Women’s March Against Poverty to Quebec City in 1995. Following the creation of Quebec Solidaire, Manon has been the party’s candidate in the riding of Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques since 2006. In the summer of 2011, she participated in the Canadian boat in the Gaza flotilla.
