By the end of this year, Canada may be signing the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with the European Union. Haven’t heard of it? Don’t be surprised. The Harper Government has remained eerily silent about it though details have surfaced from other sources.
The scope of this agreement is gigantic. One thing we do know is unlike trade deals of the past, foreign multinational corporations will be able to challenge provincial and municipal governments if they feel a policy is unfair to their profit margins. If you want to know more about this deal, please join us Friday, November 18th, from 1-3pm in the CSU Lounge.

Come learn about and discuss the Canadian-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with the trade campaigner of the Council of Canadians and a professor who has done a lot of research on another major free trade agreement NAFTA. We will show a small documentary on the deal for those who arrive early, around 12:40.
