Free Education Montreal and the Concordia Graduate Students’ Association present:
WALKOUT

WALKOUT – All it takes is the courage to step out.
The stirring film that inspired 2,500 Denver students to leave classes in 2006 to protest anti-immigration legislation in Colorado comes to Concordia!
WALKOUT tells the story of the true-life struggles of Mexican-American student activist Paula Crisostomo who grew tired of poor educational conditions and anti-Mexican bias existing in the Los Angeles education system that led her to stage a walkout along with 10,000 students at five high schools in 1968 in East Los Angeles. WALKOUT is sure to provoke discussion, inspire you, and raise interesting questions about the impact and use of direct action techniques in your institution.
Highly recommended for any students who face discrimination or wonder how students can impact their surroundings. Current community and student activists will be on hand for discussion and to answer any of your questions, and to connect student concerns to larger social issues.
