BRING THE NOISE: Building a sound system for grassroots events
QPIRG Concordia (1500 de Maisonneuve O., suite 204)
Sunday, November 28, 1-3pm
Whether for demos, panel discussions, benefit shows/parties, big meetings or whatever else, a good sound system is an important part of all kinds of political events. Come join Soundteam for a hands-on workshop on how to put together and run a sound system. We’ll cover basic terminology and techniques and provide plenty of time to get familiar with our PA equipment.
The workshop is open to everyone, and no prior experience with sound tech is required. Whether you’ve never touched a mixing board or have experience and ideas to share, you’re welcome to participate.
We’ll conclude with a brief discussion about how Soundteam organizes sound for events in Montreal and works to encourage tech autonomy. We’re an open collective, and are always looking for new folks to join, so if you’re interested in getting involved, please come to the workshop!
The workshop will take place at QPIRG-Concordia. The space is wheelchair accessible. No need to register.
Presented by Soundteam, a working group of QPIRG Concordia.
