To bring in a new year, and to highlight our newly renovated space, QPIRG Concordia -- your campus-community link for social change – presents a day-long New Year’s Revolution. The activities include: a Radical Walking Tour (2pm), a 5 à 7 for the Community-University Research Exchange (CURE), and an Open House (including free food, drinks and live music).

January 7, 2010, 1pm: ACTIVISM FOR STUDENTS 101
Open to students from any campus or college in Montreal
This year, QPIRG Concordia presents monthly sessions about activism and community involvement for students. These sessions are meant for anyone who is curious or interested in getting more involved in their community, and engaging and social and environmental justice issues.
“Activism for Students 101” will include an overview of collectives, groups and organizations that people can join or volunteer, as well as answer any questions participants might have about social justice organizing in the Montreal context. We will also discuss QPIRG's anti-oppression, grassroots organizing framework.

CALLOUT FOR SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE: December 10th, 2009
Study in Action is an undergraduate student conference on social and environmental justice designed to link students and community activism. The conference is a space for students to present research and develop greater knowledge of social and environmental issues and build ties with community organizations. This year's conference will take place from March 12-14, 2010 on the Concordia campus.
