Study in Action 2010 Photos
This year’s Study In Action conference was a great success, with over 300 people participating over three days. The weekend included panels, workshops, art exhibits as well as important discussions on the theme of environmental justice. Thanks again to everyone who contributed to Study in Action, and to building the strength of community-based research by undergraduates.
Photos from this year’s Study in Action undergraduate research conference are now available HERE.
Thank you graduate students!
The Quebec Public Interest Research Group at Concordia (QPIRG) would like to thank the graduate students who voted “Yes” to being part of QPIRG via a fee levy during the recent Graduate Student Association elections. We won our question with two-thirds of student voters saying "yes". We would also like to congratulate CJLO Radio on their referendum victory as well.
Thanks also to the graduate students and faculty members who offered testimonials in support of QPIRG. You can read those testimonials HERE. Collectively, the testimonials represent amazing student and faculty support for QPIRG’s work.
This entire process has consolidated the support for QPIRG among researchers, grad students, community members and faculty. We look forward to building upon those connections in the coming months and years.

ABOUT THE FILM: Is access to clean drinking water a basic human right, or a commodity that should be bought and sold like any other article of commerce? This feature is an unflinching examination of the big business of bottled water.
This timely documentary is a behind-the-scenes look into the unregulated and unseen world of an industry that aims to privatize and sell back the one resource that ought never to become a commodity: our water.
From the plastic production to the ocean in which so many of these bottles end up, this inspiring documentary trails the path of the bottled water industry and the communities which were the unwitting chips on the table. A powerful portrait of the lives affected by the bottled water industry, this revelatory film features those caught at the intersection of big business and the public's right to water.
