ACTIVISM FOR STUDENTS 101
MONDAY, February 1, 1pm
at QPIRG Concordia (1500 de Maisonneuve West, #204)

This year, QPIRG Concordia presents monthly sessions about activism and community involvement for students. These sessions are meant for anyone who is curious or interested in getting more involved in their community, and engaging in social and environmental justice issues.

“Activism for Students 101” will include an overview of collectives, groups, organizations, campaigns and projects that people can join or volunteer, as well as answer any questions participants might have about social justice organizing in the Montreal context. We will also discuss QPIRG's anti-oppression, grassroots organizing framework.

Activism for Students 101 is part of QPIRG Concordia’s mandate to make meaningful links between the campus and the community. Join us and learn more about how to get involved.

The next Activism for Students 101 workshop will be: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 1pm

-> The workshop will take place at the QPIRG Concordia space at 1500 de Maisonneuve West, #204 (metro Guy-Concordia), above the Café Depôt.
-> The space is wheelchair accessible. If you require childcare to attend, please contact us 48 hours in advance and we will arrange for free childcare.

Study in Action is an undergraduate student conference on social and environmental justice designed to link students and community activism. The conference is a space for students to present research and develop greater knowledge of social and environmental issues and build ties with community organizations. This year's conference will take place from March 12-14, 2010 on the Concordia campus, and with focus on Environmental Justice.

Study In Action not only crosses disciplinary lines, but also transcends the borders between academic and popular knowledges. We invite submissions to interpret our mandate with as much innovation as possible.
